Time to Escape

For one reason or another, men seem to be a lot quicker at packing than women. Perhaps it’s the smaller wardrobes men have that makes it a less daunting process. Or perhaps a lot of blokes end up buying all of the things they’d forgotten once they arrive at their destination. Whatever it is, when it comes to packing, a no nonsense approach is always desired.

With a number of weekend getaways on the horizon, as well as interstate trips and an overseas trip booked for next year, it was time for me to get serious about luggage. I couldn’t go over to mum and dad’s house and borrow their suitcases for much longer.

I had a couple of prerequisites in mind which made the task easier, especially as I’d crossed suitcases off the list altogether. For mine, they’re old school, bulky and for all intents and purposes, hard on the eye. It’s only luggage, I know, but that’s just my opinion. Don’t hate me.

I settled on a duffle bag. I wanted it to be light and I wanted it to have wheels to take the load off my dodgy shoulders.

The Paklite Escape series caught my attention and with three sizes available, I settled on the 61cm model as it was just the right size for weekend getaways. The range features lightweight fabric construction without sacrificing durability as well as some other handy features listed below:

  • High quality wheels, bearings, trolleys and components are used to ensure durability.
  • Lockable external sleeve pocket.
  • Each bag has internal compression straps and internal mesh sleeve pocket.
  • The cabin size duffle features a smart loop to enable convenient transport over the trolley tubes of a larger bag.
  • Lightweight aluminium locking trolley handle.
  • Strong PVC scuff guard on back and base of trolley case for added protection.
  • Durable bearing wheels

For a 50L bag, the Escape only weighs in at 2.4kg and once emptied, can be stored away in fairly compact spaces in wardrobes and garages.

If you’re looking for new luggage that looks the part as much as it serves its purpose, then you could do a lot worse than check out the Escape range from Paklite.
