Cage Dive with Great White Sharks

0

They’re the apex predator of the ocean and few animals strike more fear in humans than the great white shark. Perhaps it’s the fact that they grow to an average of 15ft, or maybe it’s the 300 or so serrated teeth that line their gobs.

Great whites are at the top of the food chain and getting up close and personal to one is a once in a lifetime experience that is sure to get the blood pumping. Speaking of which, did you know they can sense tiny amounts of blood in the water from up to five kilometres away?

Imagine being within a few inches of one’s jaws with only a few metal bars (albeit impenetrable… you hope) to protect you.

You just know the sound of the Jaws theme song will be ringing through your mind too.

For the best opportunity to conquer your fear, head to Port Lincoln in South Australia and book a tour with one of the qualified charter boats.

While it is hard to predict the best time of year to encounter a great white or two, it is generally said that the months between March and October are best.
