Daylesford session cider: made for sunny days

0

I’ve heard (and drunk) session ales or session lagers before but never a session cider and boy was it sessionable. It was delightfully crisp, ideal for cracking open on a hot summer’s day.

As the bronze medal winner in the 2019 Australian Cider Awards, I had high hopes for it heading in and wasn’t disappointed. As a medium sweet cider, the Session is exactly that: not too sweet and not too bitter.

This cider immediately grabs your attention with its unique matte black can design and as a self-proclaimed critique of can designs, it’s a big plus. They lose points on the actual label design for the ‘session’ part of the label looking like a stock Microsoft Word font. Luckily it doesn’t affect the taste whatsoever.

Although, I wouldn’t treat it like a sessionable cider, at 1.4 standards you might want to look for one of their lighter strength beverages. Nonetheless, a certified crispy boy that I will be heading back to try again.
