Daylesford Cider Co. were nice enough to send us a range of their ciders and one of the first things I did was grab the vintage dry, the 2018 gold medal winner at the Australian Cider Awards. I had heard good things before and I wanted to taste said good things.
This is the gold standard when it comes to cider (pardon the pun), it’s exactly as a cider should taste in my opinion and I’m a huge fan. It’s not overly sweet like a lot of ciders today and has a subtle bitterness that is delightful.
It’s like eating dried apples in a very delicate little bottle.
Daylesford Cider specialise in more traditional cider-making, using its English heritage organic cider apples that are grown on the farm. The apple flavour definitely shines through, something I’ve noticed with the other Daylesford ciders I’ve had.
The Vintage Dry bottle looks sleek and clean in its design, nothing over the top and fits alongside the rest of the cider range.
I haven’t gone real in-depth with this cider review because it’s simply just a tasty, solid drink and one of the best ciders I’ve ever had. I’m sure if you’re able to get your hands on one then you’d agree, so definitely check it out.
