It’s only fitting that I was enjoying the bottle with friends as we entered spring on a weekend away. Lawrenny Estate’s Van Diemen’s is a Tasmanian gin distilled from traditional juniper tones with strong botanicals, namely the lime flower, really coming through.
What shocked us the most is how sweet it initially is. And then it transforms into a more traditional gin.
As someone that only drinks gin with tonic, I was shocked at how easily I was able to drink the Van Diemen’s neat. Yes, that probably isn’t the coolest thing in the world to say but it’s a testament to its taste that we were drinking it neat from the get-go.
It’s no wonder the Van Diemen’s has won two gold medals among its accolades, it truly is a winning gin and I’d recommend it to anyone.
