A lot of runners pound pavement for the endorphin release. Some do it to clear their mind and others do it because it simply makes them feel alive. Whatever the reason, more power to them. It has to be better for you than sitting on the couch all day. So why not give it a go?
Start small and build up your strength and endurance. Go to the gym, find local running tracks and set goals each week or month and continue to run further and faster as you go. Grab a buddy to come along with you on the journey as it will make the whole experience a whole lot easier – it also makes it harder for you to come up with excuses as to why you can’t run on any given day. Try a half marathon first on relatively flat ground before embarking on a full-blown marathon.
Lastly, bask in the all important glory that comes with completing one… or so we’ve heard anyway.
