Learn a foreign language

Learning a new language can be useful in more ways than you might imagine. Sure, if you learn some Spanish before you visit Barcelona you’re almost definitely going to have a better trip but the benefits of being multi-lingual stretch far beyond time spent abroad.

Learning a second language can actually make you smarter. That’s right, becoming versed in a foreign tongue has been shown to increase a person’s ability to problem solve, communicate, and make decisions. It is also touted as a way to improve your memory, stave off dementia and it’s even said to make you more perceptive.

And if all that’s not reason enough to dust off that old French-English dictionary, how about the effect a well-chosen exotic phrase might have on that special lady?
