The bar cart has been revived and is finding its way to the backyard of Australian homes more than ever and thanks to Diageo, the maker of Smirnoff, Gordon’s gin and Johnnie Walker, has released a bar cart with voice-activated technology made for home entertainment.
Dubbed The Bar Cart, it’ll help Aussies planning their home entertainment, making it easier to mix drinks, make cocktails and so on.
It seamlessly integrates with Amazon Alexa which will help the 2.2 million Australians who says that they’re guessing when making cocktails for guests according to Diageo. At launch, the Bar Cart will be programmed with 12 cocktails including the popular Johnnie Walker & Lemon Highball and Tanqueray Negroni and perfect the often-searched process to make a great Gin & Tonic.
Additionally, there will be links to Spotify for pre-programmed playlists curated by popular Australian artists.
Diageo marketing and innovation director Andrew Oughton says the company is proud to have created a new and innovative way to help Australians entertain at home: “We hope The Bar Cart experimental technology will make entertaining at home simple, easy and fun and offer Aussies the opportunity to explore a world of new tastes and flavour combinations, upping their cocktail and mixed drink-making game.”
