Four gin cocktails to enjoy this winter

0

As we try and stay warm in the middle of winter, Aviation Gin has compiled four go-to gin cocktails with their award-winning spirit.

With botanicals like cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper and two kinds of orange peel, the gin adds a unique flair to traditional cocktails. On top of that, it leads the way in some of the new machinations.

Beet It

The first cocktail on the list might not be a favourite for everyone but if you’re into beetroot, you’ll be over the moon. The strong gin flavour bites through the beet juice alongside a sprinkle of lime juice.

Ingredients:
● 45ml Aviation American Gin
● 30ml Beet Juice
● 15ml Lime Juice
● 15ml Simple Syrup
● 7ml Kummel Liqueur
● Rosemary Sprig

Method:
1. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake, then strain into chilled Coupe

Hugo’s Martini

The traditional martini gets a shake-up (pardon the pun) by adding a dash of orange bitters alongside the Aviation American Gin. As I said in my Aviation review, the bottle could be the new go-to for gins so it’s no wonder it works well in a martini.

Ingredients:
● 45ml Aviation American Gin
● 15ml Dry Vermouth
● 1 Dash Orange Bitters
● Lemon Peel

Method:
1. Combine all ingredients into mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir, then strain into chilled Martini

Negroni Upgrade

I love a Negroni as much as the next person so when I saw the Negroni Upgrade, I thought there could be no downside. Spoilers, there’s not. The Aviation Gin adds its own little flair here, upgrading the traditional Negroni we’ve come to know and love.

Ingredients:
● 45ml Aviation American Gin
● 20ml Bitter Aperitivo Liqueur
● 20ml Sweet Vermouth
● Orange Twist

Method:
1. Combine all ingredients into mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir, then strain into Rocks glass with Ice.
3. Garnish with Orange Twist.

Bijou

And finally, the classic Bijou gets a boost with (you guessed it) the Aviation American Gin.

Ingredients:
● 30ml Aviation American Gin
● 30ml Green Chartreuse Liqueur
● 30ml Sweet Vermouth
● 2-3 Dashes Orange Bitters

Method:
1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice
2. Stir, then strain into chilled Coupe glass.
