If you think the name is strange, you’ll probably fall off your chair once you watch some of the videos depicting the events that take place here.
Burning Man festival is unlike any on the planet and from humble beginnings in 1986, the 2014 event attracted a staggering 65,922 attendees.
So the name derives from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy of the Man on Saturday night before an elaborate temple is set alight on the Sunday.
It takes place in the remote Black Rock Desert in Northern Nevada on the last Monday in August and ends on the first Monday in September. The desert transforms into a wild and vibrant city populated by free spirits and those with a craving for self-expression. It is said that the festival is the world’s largest interactive art display and anything and everything can be expected.
Mutated cars roam the streets, laser displays light up the night skies, fire breathers and twirlers are everywhere and magical artistic structures adorn the desert floor.
It’s a wonderland and everyone is invited.
