Big Drop Brewing Co. has won multiple titles at the Melbourne International Beer Competition (MIBC) for its low-alcohol Pine Trail Pale Ale and Uptown Craft Lager.
The event, which took place virtually, saw Big Drop win the silver medal for its Uptown Craft Lager in the ‘Low Alcohol Lager’ category and the title of ‘German Style Lager Brewery of the Year’ – a category that had full strength competitors pitted against the delicious low alcohol Big Drop lager.
“The range and quality of ultra-low beers available in Australia has really leaped ahead this year,” Big Drop chief executive and founder Rob Fink says.
“So we’re buzzing that Big Drop has been recognised as a major player and that our beers are going down so well with consumers. It’s given us the boost to introduce more styles and flavours in the coming months.”
On top of the lager awards, Big Drop also got the bronze medal in the ‘Full-strength Session Beer’ category for the Pine Trail Pale Ale.
