Jabra’s new Evolve3 series is the headset built for work, travel and everything in between

There was a time when work headsets were purely functional. Big boom mics, bulky frames and a look that screamed “office only”. That line between work and life has all but disappeared, yet most audio gear is still designed for one or the other. Jabra thinks it’s finally solved that problem.

Launched in Australia this week, the new Jabra Evolve3 series is being pitched as the first true crossover headset, delivering professional-grade call quality without looking out of place on a flight, at a café or on your daily commute. It’s a bold claim, but on paper at least, the Evolve3 85 and Evolve3 75 look like a genuine step forward.

At the heart of the range is a boomless microphone design, powered by AI-driven noise filtering that promises crystal-clear calls in almost any environment. The result is a headset that’s as comfortable taking Teams calls as it is handling music, podcasts or movies once the workday is done.

Why sound quality still matters more than anything

Despite endless upgrades in cameras and screens, audio remains the biggest pain point in modern work. Jabra’s own research shows 99% of knowledge workers say poor sound quality negatively impacts online meetings, yet only around one in five actually use an enterprise-grade headset. Most still rely on consumer headphones that look good but aren’t designed for professional voice clarity.

That’s the gap Jabra is targeting. The Evolve3 series is designed to sound professional while looking like something you’d actually want to wear outside the office. No protruding mic arm, no obvious “call centre” vibe. Just clean lines, lightweight materials and a low-profile silhouette in either black or warm grey.

According to Jabra, this is also a noticeable performance jump from the previous Evolve2 range. The new models are built to deliver clear speech even outdoors, in transit or in noisy public spaces, something that was traditionally difficult without a physical boom mic.

AI-powered voice, minus the boom arm

The big technical leap comes from what Jabra calls ClearVoice. It’s a combination of deep neural network (DNN) technology and multi-mic processing, trained on more than 60 million real-world sentences. Instead of relying on mic placement alone, the system analyses layers of sound to separate your voice from background noise in real time.

In practice, that means traffic, office chatter and wind noise are filtered out without you needing to sit perfectly still or talk directly into a microphone. It’s inspired by the way the human brain focuses on a single voice in a crowded room, and it allows the Evolve3 to maintain a discreet, boom-free design without sacrificing clarity.

This same system also underpins the headset’s AI-readiness. With one-touch voice access, users can interact with AI tools, dictate messages or issue commands while on the move. Jabra claims up to 96% word capture accuracy across real-world environments, making voice input a genuinely viable alternative to typing, especially in screen-free situations.

Noise cancellation that works during calls

Active Noise Cancellation isn’t new, but Jabra’s approach here is more adaptive than most. The ANC on both Evolve3 models adjusts in real time based on your surroundings and how the headset fits. Crucially, it continues to work during calls, not just when you’re listening to music.

That means fewer distractions mid-meeting, even if you’re working from a café, airport lounge or shared office. Add spatial sound processing, and calls feel more natural and less fatiguing over long sessions.

Two models, two styles of work

The Evolve3 range comes in two flavours.

The Evolve3 85 is an over-the-ear headset built for maximum immersion. It’s aimed at people who spend long hours in calls or need deep focus in noisy environments. Despite its full-size design, it’s 35% slimmer and 23% lighter than the previous Evolve2 85, and it folds down into a compact travel case.

Battery life is equally impressive, with up to 25 hours of call time or a staggering 120 hours of music playback with ANC and the busy light turned off. A ten-minute fast charge delivers up to ten hours of use, which is ideal for last-minute dashes out the door.

The Evolve3 75 takes a lighter approach. Its on-ear design offers more breathability and situational awareness, making it a better fit for hybrid workers who move between environments throughout the day. It still delivers up to 22 hours of calls or 110 hours of listening time, and it’s even more compact for everyday travel.

Both models are the most lightweight in their class and are clearly designed to transition from work to leisure without missing a beat.

Built for business, but friendly for everyday use

While the Evolve3 looks like a consumer headset, it’s very much built with business in mind. Both models are certified for major unified communications platforms and ship with a pre-paired Bluetooth adapter for fast, secure connectivity. Bluetooth Native support also allows direct connection to phones, tablets and laptops.

For IT teams, Jabra Plus Management enables centralised device control, firmware updates and configuration across an organisation. For everyone else, the Jabra Plus mobile app offers easy customisation, including EQ settings, wind noise reduction and firmware updates from your phone. A desktop version of the app is due later in 2026.

Jabra has also leaned into longevity. The Evolve3 series features replaceable batteries and ear cushions, extending product life and aligning with modern repair legislation. Sustainability is baked in too, with recycled and bio-circular materials and TCO generation ten certification.

The bottom line

As hybrid work continues to blur the lines between office, home and travel, gear that can keep up is becoming essential. The Jabra Evolve3 series feels like a thoughtful response to that reality, combining serious audio tech with a design that doesn’t lock you into “work mode” the moment you put it on.

Whether it truly replaces both your work headset and your everyday headphones will come down to personal preference. But if you want one headset that can handle meetings, music, flights and AI-powered workflows without compromise, Jabra’s latest might be the most convincing all-rounder yet.

The Jabra Evolve3 85 and Evolve3 75 will be available in Australia from 1 March 2026, with pricing starting at $719 AUD.
