ASICS has released its new shoe for the 2025 netball season, the ASICS Netburner Ballistic FF 3. This was designed in collaboration with professional athletes and has been backed by elite netballers such as Australian Diamond and Melbourne Vixen Jo Weston.
This shoe is for players who want to improve their speed, stability and on-court transitions.
The ManSpace magazine was able to get a hold of a pair and test the runners out on the court. I’m a shooter with naturally wide and flat feet, so I wanted to see how these catered towards my on-court needs.
The upper flexion and high heel-to-toe drop allowed to a quicker change of direction when trying to free up space and get the defender away. My feet were cushioned by the Flytefoam Propel which did not allow my feet to burn.
Some shoes can do that to my feet, but the foam and its lightweight nature allowed for easy speed off the mark and elevation to grab the ball high in the air.
Dodging and changing direction was a lot easier with the Twistruss technology between the midsole and the outside of the shoe. The snug fit of the shoe through the X-Guidance outside design took some time to get used to, but when I got used to the feeling, I was confident out on the court.
Before taking the court in a game, wear the shoes in so it expands to your foot shape otherwise it will be uncomfortable. So, make sure to get a run in at least twice before you take the court so you can feel comfortable in your netball runners of choice.
This shoe is recommended by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Medicine Australia, the new ASICS Netburner Ballistic FF3 is available now in retail stores and on asics.com ready for the upcoming netball season.
